Since Korean Air announced the merger in 2020, it has obtained approval from all 14 countries required for the merger. This is the first time in more than 4 years since the acquisition of Asiana Airlines was announced in November 2020. If the merged Korean Air is established, it will become one of the top 10 large airlines in the world.
According to previous reports, on November 28, local time, the European Commission officially approved the merger application of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines. As a result, the four-year merger process of the two major airlines is expected to be officially completed next month.
